    • The undulating outlines of Dream City's residential towers were modelled after limestone mountains found outside of Kuala Lumpur. It is a unique development comprising of 7 blocks showcasing their elegance against the KL city landscape.

      Dream City is also designed with a 90,000 sqft skypark on level 7 that connects and stretches across all the towers and it comes fitted with earth-friendly conveniences such as energy monitors, rainwater recycling and energy efficient windows.

       

    • Since Dian Lee established Clearwater Group in 2005, the boutique developer has been making waves with their luxurious yet eco-friendly residential projects such as Clearwater Residence and Blu°constellation. Dian shares with us her vision for Clearwater Group's latest development, Dream City.

      HOME For some people, the word "home" evokes family, childhood, healing and to others, their precious lifetime memories. It is a word that conjures images and emotions. And if one is lucky, it can be a word that brings comfort to the soul, recalls a place we want to return to, makes us feel safe, loved and nurtured.

      SPACE We have to choose our living space wisely. Where we live can have a huge impact on who we are; as adults it affects our daily lives and moods, and for children it influences the type of people they will become. I hope Dream City becomes a space for residents to kindle the joy of family, to celebrate life, and to house their dreams.

      FREEDOM It is with this 'Dream' that I hope will inspire this feeling for homeowners. We have planned Dream City to give residents the opportunity to be free and independent, to feel the sun on their skin, the lightness in the breeze and to be connected to the natural beauty of the gorgeous lake, greenery and clear blue skies.     • Eco-ID is well known for its distinctive works of architecture and interior design for boutique resorts and hotels in the region, including award-winning projects such as the Metropolitan Hotel in Bangkok, the W Retreat & Spa in Maldives and The Naumi Hotel in Singapore. Sim Boon Yang, Founder and Partner of Eco-ID tells us more about the inspiration and ideas behind Dream City.

      INSPIRATION With Dream City being such a large development, it was important to find a concept to make the section look attractive as a component of the city landscape. We found inspiration for Dream City from the limestone mountains by the water in Asia and because Dream City is perched on the edge of a disused mining lake, the reflection of the form on the water amplified the concept.

      COMMUNITY In such a large development, it was important for us to create a sense of home and community for each resident - that they wouldn't feel anonymous and lost in the mass of residential units. There was a deliberate attempt to fracture and fragment the space into more manageable pocket neighbourhoods with their own gyms and amenities by each block, so there is a tighter sense of community. The skypark on the seventh floor, which is connected to all seven blocks, also helps to foster a sense of "citizenship" to Dream City and allows the entire community to share and interact within this special space.

      NATURE There is something about natural scenery that is universally appealing and is very evocative. It is also unique in KL to have a residence in front of a lake, so we designed it such that most of the apartments enjoy the lake's scenery as their primary view. The residents can now feel a sense of home, with a very special and profound connection to the lake.
